Desmond’s 3 Year Stats

Desmond has his 3 year old appointment today. The nurse measured him wrong since he wasn’t standing still and she still measured him, so she had him down as 36 inches, which he is definitely more then. I measured him against the wall when we got home and he is 37 inches, so that is what I am going for as his 3 year height not the 36 inches the nurse got. At 37 inches he is in the 50th percentile, at 36 he is in the 15th percentile. He weighed in at 31 pounds 12.8 ounces which seems just about right. It is also in the 50th percentile. So he is in the 50th percentile across the board, which is not unexpected, he is moving into his correct bracket, because honestly he was never really going to be the 90th percentile child for long. Not with me and Dan as his parents.

Anyways everything looked good he is on track or ahead developmentally. He did not like his MMR shot and I can’t blame him. He also did not like the TB test, which the doctor wanted him to get since he has been to India. Since Dan is home on Wednesday we decided to go ahead and do it. We left with one extremely unhappy boy, whose “leg hurts right here!”

Anyways here are his stats from birth to now.
At birth he was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20 3/4 inches
At one months he was 11 pounds and 23 inches
At two months he was 14 pounds and 24 1/2 inches
At four months he was 17 pounds 13 ounces and 26 1/2 inches
At 6 months he was 19 pounds 13 ounces and 27 inches
At 9 months he was 22 pounds 3 ounces and 29 inches
At 1 year (12 months) he was 23 pounds 8 ounces and 30 inches
At 15 months was 23 pounds 10 ounces and 31 inches
At 18 months he was 26 pounds and 33 inches
At 2 years he is 27 pounds 8 ounces and 35 inches
At 3 years he is 31 pounds 12.8 ounces and 37 inches

did you talk about his speech development? i know you said it’s getting better but it’s always good to ask. I agree Des was never going to be 90% for height =- 50% seems just about right – like his uncle noah

Yeah, she gave me the info for the birth to 5 program. We’re going to wait to see till the end of May how he is doing, since he has improved a ton in the past 6 weeks or so, and if he still seems a bit behind we’ll get him evaluated.
