More Playground Pictures

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

So we go to the playground a lot and I tend to take pictures about 1 out 2 visits, so I have a lot of playground pictures. These pictures are from our visit on May 1st. We had gone the day before and I had gotten a picture of Desmond and Eloise walking holding hands with my small camera, but I wanted a better picture so I brought the big camera and they held hands and walked again for me. I also got some other pictures of the two of them playing at the playground since I had the camera with me anyways.

I can so see her as a teenager in this picture. Like seriously Mom do you have to take another picture of me?

At the Jump Place

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

There is an inflatables place near Desmond’s Gymnastics and future Preschool. I found out about it from my yahoo parenting group. They did a play date there and Desmond and I went. He had a ton of fun. So the Wednesday after I got back from Atlanta I took him and Eloise again since it was raining and icky out. Desmond had a ball for the 2 hour open play period, and Eloise had fun too. There was only one other little girl there so Desmond had the run of the place and loved it. He had a ton of fun, I plan on taking him back again soon, since it is a reasonable price for two hours of play and he gets to expend a ton of energy running, bouncing, climbing and sliding.

Making Muffins

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

So I got a couple of cookbooks to help me plan lunches for Desmond when he goes to camp, since his camp is Dairy Kosher and we are too basically, I wanted a few more choices to expand his lunch menu. Not that I think he will eat anything other then cheese, maybe carrots and fruit, but it is always worth a shot. Anyways I decided to try a couple of the muffin recipes in the cookbook. The muffins were less then tasty, but Desmond did enjoy helping making them. I find that having him help cook is always fun for him.

Desmond Playing Soccer

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Here is a video of him playing soccer, or at least kicking the ball.

Soccer Time

Friday, May 21st, 2010

So Desmond is in the middle of a 6 week soccer class. The first week of class he went, the second and third week were canceled and added to the end of the session because of rain. The fourth week, 2nd class he went to with Dan, because Eloise and I were out of town. The fifth week, 3rd class wasn’t canceled but we didn’t go to because it was raining and both he and Eloise were a bit off. So he has 3 classes to go, though he will be missing one of those because we’ll be in Atlanta for it.

He had fun for the first 15/20 minutes of the first class he went to, and then he was done. The second class according to Dan he was good for 30 minutes or so and then he was done, and curled up in his lap not willing to do anything more. We’ll see how he does on Monday for his next class. I figure if he is done after 30 minutes or so I’ll just take him to the playground to play. If it isn’t called off for rain, last check showed thunderstorms expected on Monday, but that can always change.

I am not sure if we are going to put him in the class in the fall again or not. Since he will have just started preschool we might hold off. We’ll see how he feels closer to the fall though.

Anyways here he is on his first day of soccer playing. He has long green socks and shin guards on under his pants, and those are real soccer shoes he is wearing. I need to get some pictures of him playing in shorts too!

and here is Eloise enjoying soccer too!

At the playground after the zoo

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

After the zoo we went to the playground up by us. We didn’t end up staying long because the weather had gotten a lot colder and we didn’t bring jackets or anything. Both Eloise and Desmond had fun running around for the 20 or so minutes we were there though.

I had fortunately packed a pair of sweatpants for Desmond so he didn’t have to go out in his shorts.

Dan had stolen my sweatshirt here. Because he was cold, this was about the time we decided to head out.

At the Zoo

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

We finally got to the zoo in April. We went on April 17th after Dan’s doctor’s appointment. We had a lot of fun. Both the kids enjoyed seeing the animals. That being said it was extremely busy which was kind of weird for a random Saturday in April. Desmond requested visiting Monkeys and Tigers and Eloise just liked looking at all the animals. We didn’t see the pandas because we weren’t willing to deal with the crowds. We had a lot of fun though and it was a good day. We also figured out the best place to drive to to catch the metro to the zoo, which is nice.

Here are Eloise, Desmond and Dan watching the lions. All three lions were out, which was impressive, normally only one of the lions is out when we visit. Of course I only brought the small point and shoot camera because we never get great pictures at the zoo so why bring the big camera, oh well!

Easter Morning with Desmond

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

So Easter morning Desmond woke up to a big Easter Basket. Eloise had one too, but she was asleep and didn’t wake up until we were getting ready to leave for my Aunt’s house. He loved his basket and ate his chocolate bunny quickly, after playing with it for awhile.

Look Mom candy!

Look at all this cool stuff! I got an Easter Rabbit Mr. Potato Head, that is kind of cool and candy!

I think I will start by nibbling the ears!

Hmm how will he get across the water without getting wet?

Oh well I guess he fell in!

Yum in my tum! as Desmond likes to say.

Dying Easter Eggs

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

The night before Easter we let Desmond dye Easter Eggs. He had a ton of fun with this, but liked to drop the eggs from a height into the containers, which led to cracked eggs. So we didn’t actually get to eat any of the hard boiled eggs, which wasn’t a huge deal. He loved this activity though and I bought a couple more dye sets when they were on sale after Easter so we can do it again.

Birthday at Easter at Aunt Mary’s

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Here are the pictures of Desmond and Eloise, though mainly Desmond celebrating their birthdays at Easter.

First Desmond’s cake. There were two little girls about his age next to him and one of them blew out the candles before he got to. It was cute. It then took all three of them to blow out the newly relit candles.

Here is Eloise with her vegan cupcake, there is a giraffe on the top of it. Desmond had toodles (from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) on his cupcakes, but there was so much food there including the huge cake that he didn’t eat any of his cupcakes till the next day at home.

Desmond opening his presents

And Eloise opening hers. She loves that bunny rabbit it is her car toy and she hugs it and plays with it whenever we get in the car.
