So being 37 weeks pregnant, I can’t move with all the agility that I use to be able to, for instance, I can’t get Desmond when he decides to go hide under the dining room table, and he uses this knowledge to his advantage. For instance this morning, he didn’t want his diaper changed, so he went to hide under the table. And while he was there he noticed a crayon, so he decided the wall made a nice canvas as well. So we now have some new wall art under the dining room table.
Hmm yes I think a line here would look quite nice…
Maybe a scribble here!
Hmm is this the right color blue? I’m not sure, maybe I should think about expanding my color palate….
So yesterday Desmond was sick still and feeling pretty crummy. Anyways he was hanging out in the big comfy chair watching Cars, and fell asleep in it because he was just so comfy.
This chair is comfy!
Very Very Very comfy!
So comfy I might even take a nap!
Yes a nap sounds good!
Mommy decided I could use a blanket to keep me warm!
Even K-line thinks it is comfy!!
So Desmond’s favorite thing on the tv/Xbox360 right now is castle crashers, followed closely by Cars. He can almost play it himself though he likes to make us play for him and then stand and watch and clap for us when we do a good job. Anyways here are a few pictures from this weekend of shorty watching Dan play. On the plus side I guess the Bilbo we got him for the holidays is getting used.
as much as the next girl. But I really would prefer not to have to change them twice in under 12 hours!
I’m not scared about how life will change once she is here, though maybe I should be. I’m not even scared about how we will all adjust to her, including the toddler. I’m scared of having her.
Now yes I have a 2 year old, so obviously I’ve been through child birth before. In fact I even was dilated to 10 and pushing before my emergency c-section with Desmond. BUT! and this is a big but, I was unconscious when Desmond actually arrived. See the local they gave me didn’t do enough so they had to give me general anesthesia, which meant I was unconscious and didn’t see him being born. Which did suck, but at the same time, by the time I saw him he was 5 hours old, which really sucked, but he looked like a baby and he was nice and clean and everything. Oh and I was a bit out of based on the no sleep and morphine, so I am not sure how much I really even remember of that other then being beyond annoyed at the labor and delivery nurse that took 5 hours to move me to the maternity ward so I could finally see Desmond.
Anyways, I never actually saw him being born or saw him even right after he was born, so I really don’t know what it is like and it kind of scares me. I know once the moment is here, I will be fine, but thinking about labor and having bean is just scary since yes I know what will happen and yes I’ve been through it before, except I haven’t been through that final step where I see the baby right after they are born and that is the part that kind of scares me. I’m not sure why, but it does.
Oh and if these contractions don’t stop soon, it won’t be an issue because I’ll have done insane before the birth anyways.
…well maybe once Desmond feels better. Since I don’t want to catch what he has or expose a new baby to it. I received my Viacord kit today though so we are all ready to go as far as the birth is concerned at least. Probably a good thing, since I’ve been having contractions on and off for at least 2 weeks now and had a couple of painful ones yesterday. I doubt she’ll arrive for another week or two though, but it is nice to be ready at least for the hospital part.
Well Desmond came down with a stomach bug of some sort yesterday. He had a bunch of diarrhea during the day, so we ended up putting in disposable diapers so we could put diaper rash cream on his butt and to make clean up a bit easier, of course he hasn’t had any since. He also woke up at 12:30am and threw up all over his bed, which was lots of “fun”.
He is definitely not feeling well today, he hasn’t thrown up again, but then again he hasn’t eaten anything other then a bit of Mango Sorbet. He has drunk a bit of water, but not a ton, we’re keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t get too dehydrated. He has a fever of around 103, so we’ve been giving him baby Tylenol and Motrin to bring it down to 101 or so. He is very tired and sleepy and isn’t running around or anything, poor baby does not feel well.
Here is a picture of him cuddled up with K-line and Daddy watching Cars.
So we’ve been working on getting the house ready for bean. On Monday we dropped Desmond off at his Grandparents’ house and came back and Dan put together the storage solution for toys in the living room, we found something at Target and I cleaned our bedroom and Desmond’s room. Here are a couple of pictures of Desmond’s room, while it is clean. It is actually surprisingly still clean 3 and a half days later, which I am shocked about. There are some books on the floor, but that’s about all he’s pulled out.
I realized I haven’t taken any pictures at Gymboree for awhile, so since I had my small camera with me on Saturday I took a few. Here is Desmond having fun at Gymboree.
