Civ4 is coming next week

Thursday, October 20th, 2005

Okay so I admit it I am a computer game player. I play a ton of computer games, I love computer games. One of the first computer games I remember playing is Civilization. I remember fighting with my dad for the computer so I could play it instead of him. It was one of my favorite games. So of course I bought civ2, and civ3. Well civ4 is coming out next week on the 25th, in honor of my Mom’s birthday or at least on the same date. And once again I will be buying it. They have improved a ton of stuff between the games and added a lot of new and interesting concepts like religion. They have also removed some stuff, but that is what happens.

So I have spent the last two days drooling over pictures at the official site and some of the sites that have previews up. So I thought I would share two of the nice pictures I found. Let me repeat again I love this game in all its past verisions so I shall love this new verision too that comes out tuesday!

Econ Test Lost Again, though different test!

Okay so now my Macro Economics test doesn’t have a grade, sigh I swear I am the only person I know who ends up with missing grades on two econ tests from entirely different classes.

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven’t adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can’t marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were
allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn’t be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren’t full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That’s why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That’s why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

(one of the saddest parts about our society is that…these arguements, before the humourous common sense, are the real reasons why people can’t accept gay marriages.)

(and they always go “straight”(haha) to No.10…which, funnily enough to me, is probably the last thing a gay couple is thinking about…while the “straight people,” who are arguing against gay marriage, seem to be all over it. how interesting.)

Please feel free repost this on blogs/forums if you belive gay marriages should be legal!

Got this from a friend, but I think it is great, so I’m posting it here.

Lost Econ Test was found

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

It was lost or won’t scantron or something, all I know is my teacher knew there was a problem and just posted the scores of people who were missing their grades, and mine was there. I got a B which is decent, not amazing but I’m still pretty happy with it.

Not Much Exciting Going On.

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

I just noticed I haven’t blogged in a couple of days except for random quizes. This is mainly because there isn’t that much that is interesting going on right now. Dan’s cyst is getting better, he needs to call and make an appointment with the surgeon to get it removed.

My Macro Economics test went fairly well I hope, there were a couple of questions I was iffy about, but I felt pretty good about it. My Micro Economics teacher lost my test, or some random something happened to it, he knows about it however, so it won’t affect my grade other then the fact it may not count and my other tests and such will be weighed higher.

Last night we had a nice 4 hour demonstration from a door to door vacuum saleswoman, that was kind of neat. Now all I need to meet is a door to door encyclopedia salesperson and I will be able to call my life complete ;) . We actually went and bought the vacuum, maybe we’ll use it too, it is nice and has a lot of neat features and the house could use some vacuuming, we need to get it reorganized now that the kitchen is almost done.

The inspector never came last week, hopefully he’ll show on Thursday since I am home for Yom Kipper, yay fasting or something. If he does come, then the contractor is planning on arriving that afternoon to start patching the holes in the walls. And he’ll only have to come back one more time post that yay!

I get my tooth filled today, nope not a cavity, I apparently broke a tooth and it needs to be filled so it doesn’t become a cavity. Fortunately it wasn’t a horrible break and they can fill it just like a cavity rather then doing scarier dentist things to it. Novicaine is fun I’m sure my face is going to be numb all afternoon and evening.

Nothing much else is up, should be a fairly quiet week. Though I’ll probably post about it anyways ;) .

Another Quiz, this one is what type of Gamer are you?

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005
You scored as Tactician. You’re probably a military buff who wants to have the chance to think through complex problems. You want the rules, and your GM’s interpretation of them, to match up what happens in the real world or at least be consistant. You want challenging yet logical obstacles to overcome.

Your Hair Should Be Orange

Expressive, deep, and one of a kind.
You pull off “weird” well – hardly anyone notices.
What’s Your Funky Inner Hair Color?

Orange is doable, I always liked red, but orange is nice too.

More ramblings

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

Dan has a Pilonidal Cyst which is kind of icky. He has to let it drain out today and go back to the doctor tomorrow for her to look at it and decide if he is going to need major surgery because of it. Or just minor surgery to remove the cyst. We’re kind of hoping on the minor surgery obviously.

The kitchen is almost complete, they came out today and finished up most everything. The scribing is up above the upper cabnets, and everything looks good. The inspector was suppose to arrive today but it is now 4pm and he isn’t here. So doubt he is actually making it today. There are like 4 things left for the contractors to do, they need to patch up the walls after the inspector arrives, calk above the scribing and well actually I think that is everything. Everything else is done yay!

We’ll have to paint the guest bedroom when they are done with the wall stuff and the back room as well. Plus we’ll have to touch up the painting in the kitchen. That leaves us with not to much left to do however, which is nice.

That is about it for the day I think. I have two tests on Monday which means this weekend is going to be major study time, but I don’t really have anything due for the rest of the week which is nice. Overall pretty quiet day.

What color is your blog?

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

Your Blog Should Be Purple

You’re an expressive, offbeat blogger who tends to write about anything and everything.
You tend to set blogging trends, and you’re the most likely to write your own meme or survey.
You are a bit distant though. Your blog is all about you – not what anyone else has to say.
What Color Should Your Blog or Journal Be?

Hey I like purple it is one of my favorite colors so I’m quite happy with the results.

Oh and I just have to say, well doh my blog is about me, who else would it be about it is my blog. Silly quiz.
