Eating Mac and Cheese

Friday, January 30th, 2009

I made Desmond mac and cheese for lunch today and let him eat it on the sofa rather then at the table, since he isn’t feeling good. Anyways K-line was quick to take advantage of the fact that Desmond isn’t really interested in eating right now, one of the ways we know he is sick is he isn’t eating. K-line was good and watched Desmond eat till he was done, but he was watching quite hard. I mentioned to my Mom earlier I thought he had eaten half his bowl, looking at the pictures, I think I’ll revise that estimate downwards, he ate maybe 3 or 4 spoonfuls, if that, and that is just not normal for our little bottomless pit.

Hmm maybe if I lie down they won’t notice me watching the mac and cheese…

Yay, lots of mac and cheese for me, it is mine all mine!

No 1:30am is not a good bedtime Desmond!

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

So yesterday Desmond took about a 15 minute nap, which we knew would be a problem later on. We weren’t surprised when he passed out around 6pm. We debated waking him up since if he falls asleep before 7 or so he normally considers it a nap not bedtime, but decided he seemed tired enough he might sleep through the night. We should have woken him up. He woke around 7 and Dan got him back down, he then woke again around 8pm and came back downstairs. Around 10:30 Dan took him back up to put him to bed, around 11:15 I came up and switched off with Dan. Around 12:15 I gave up and brought him into our room and turned Word World on for him, since he wasn’t going to sleep. Around 1:30am after I turned off Word World, he finally fell asleep.

I felt bad for Dan since he had to go into work today too so didn’t get enough sleep, though to be fair he dozed through the Word World episodes. On the plus side though, Desmond did sleep till 10am this morning. Though that is going to screw up naps and his whole schedule today too.

Here are a couple more pictures from last night. Hopefully that is enough pictures for now, Mom *grin*. He took his arm out of his sleeve and was playing with a glove.

Updated the blog look

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

I decided that I needed a new Desmond picture in my header, so since I was updating that anyways, I decided to go ahead and redo my whole theme. So the blog has been updated with a slightly more wintery feel. I’ll probably update again once bean arrives.

In the snow

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

So we took Desmond out in the snow yesterday. Unfortunately it was just a light dusting and is mostly gone already. Though I am sure the inauguration planners are quite happy about that. Anyways here are some pictures of Desmond in the snow. He did not like it on his hands at all.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

Monday, January 19th, 2009

It’s snowing! The predictions are for probably under an inch, but still it is real snow! We had a light flurry earlier in December, but this is real snow, hopefully it is still snowing after nap time since I’m planning to take Desmond out in it to play or at least get some pictures of him in it.

Desmond are you awake?

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

So we were driving home from my in-laws. They watched Desmond for us this afternoon while we worked on cleaning and moving around some things at home. He is still rear-facing since he is within the limits and it is safer, but that means when I’m in the front seat I can’t see him. Anyways he had gotten quiet so I asked, “Desmond are you awake?”

And I hear back in a cute little annoyed toddler voice, “no”.

So I guess he was sleep talking! To be fair he really was almost asleep and probably was out withing 3 minutes or so of our short conversation. I just enjoyed his answer to my question.
