On the 19th, Talk Like a Pirate Day and Rosh Hashana, we went to the wedding reception of one of Dan’s good friends in Pittsburgh. It was pirate themed, since it was on talk like a pirate day. Dan and I didn’t dress up, but we did dress up the small ones. Desmond took off his costume fairly quickly, but we do have some pictures of him in it. Anyways here are all my pictures from the reception.
Here are two videos of Eloise from yesterday. The first one is of her hands and knees crawling, the second one is her standing up using the sofa. Desmond provides a narration in the second video.
I uploaded some videos last night so here is the first one. It is Eloise eating her first food, roasted artichoke from Cheesecake Factory.
When my parents were here we went to the zoo with Desmond and Eloise. My cousin Sandra was planning on coming as well, but she had a cat on her roof. We had a lot of fun while there, even if we did skip the giant panda exhibit. Desmond loved the gorilla house, he had a ton of fun watching the gorillas and orangutans. One of the orangutans was playing hide and seek which kept Desmond entertained for awhile. Eloise really liked the elephants, though I don’t have any pictures of it since Dan had the camera at the time. Here are some of the pictures from our visit.
Eloise is now officially hand and knee crawling rather then leap frog crawling. The leap frog crawl was so cute, I’m going to miss it! She is really fast on her hands and knees though!
Eloise has been able to pull up for a few weeks now. I caught some pictures of her pulling up on the chair rather then a lower cushion though, on September 8th, and it was neat, I knew she could pull up to stand at the time, but I didn’t realize she could do it using a chair, rather then something lower and more stable.
Desmond was having his diaper changed and Eloise saw him lying there so she crawled over to play with her brother. She loves her big brother!

When we went to RenFest we got Eloise a doll, Desmond really liked it so we got him one too. The lady selling them mentioned they called them Scottish Action Figures for the boys. The name just amused Dan and me, so we have been calling Eloise’s Scottish Action Figure or Scottish Action Man. So here she is playing with her Scottish Action Figure.
