Desmond

Sunday, May 6th, 2012

What to say, other then to let everyone know that Desmond is in the hospital. He fell out of Eloise’s window yesterday when they were playing. He fell face first three stories onto concrete. He is currently in the PICU, and stable. We are currently waiting to see what his brain does in the next 36 to 60 before anything else can be done. He is going to need extensive facial reconstruction, he broke the front of his skull in 20ish pieces, his eye sockets are broken, his nose is broken, his forehead is broken, fortunately it appears that his jaw is not broken.

I probably will be posting even less to the blog right now then I normally do. I did start a CaringBridge site for him though where I will try to post updates. It is here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/desmondsinghal .

Please keep Desmond in your thoughts and prayers as we begin his long journey back from this horrific accident.

Sully’s 1 year stats

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

And here are Sully’s 1 year stats. He is doing great as well. He is in the 40th percentile for weight at 20 pounds 9 ounce and in the 75th percentile for height at 30 1/2 inches. For a quick comparison Eloise weighted 20 pounds 9 ounces at her 2 year appointment, and Desmond weighted 20 pounds 9 ounces at around 7 months. He is 1/2 an inch taller then Desmond was at 1, and 2 1/2 inches taller then Eloise was. There is only 3 1/2 inches of height inches between him and Eloise right now.

At birth he was 9 pounds 4 ounces and 22 inches
At one month he was 11 pounds 3 ounces and 23 inches
At 2 months he was 13 pounds and 24 inches
At 4 months he was 15 pounds 2 ounces
At 5 months he was 16 pounds 3 ounces and 26 1/2 inches
At 6 months he was 17 pounds 8.5 ounces and 26 1/2 inches
At 9 months he was 19 pounds 5.5 ounces and 29 inches
At 12 months he was 20 pounds 9 ounces and 30 1/2 inches

And here are all 3 of their 12 month stats compared. Sully falls almost exactly in the middle of the two for weight and is the tallest of the 3.

At 12 months Eloise was 17 pound 15.5 ounces and 28 inches
At 12 months Desmond was 23 pounds 8 ounces and 30 inches
At 12 months Sullivan was 20 pounds 9 ounces and 30 1/2 inches

Eloise’s 3 year stats

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

So we had Eloise and Sully’s 1 and 3 year appointments yesterday about a month late for Eloise, but it was the first appointment we could get. Anyways she is doing great, developmentally she is ahead and she is growing fine. She gained almost 5 pounds this year and is in the 10th percentile for weight. She gained an inch and a half in height and is now under the 5th percentile for height. She also grew a shoe size from a size 5 1/2 to a size 6 1/2 between Tuesday and Wednesday, I am actually wondering if she might not gain another inch or so soon.

She is doing great though, tiny, but great.

At birth 7 pounds 5 ounces and 19 3/4th inches
At 1 month 8 pounds 8 ounces and 20 3/4 inches
At 2 months 10 pounds 4 ounces and 22 1/2 inches
At 4 months 12 pounds 14.5 ounces and 24 inches
At 6 months 15 pounds 4 ounces and 25 1/2 inches
At 9 months 16 pounds 12 ounces and 26 3/4 inches
At 12 months 17 pound 15.5 ounces and 28 inches
At 15 months 18 pounds 4 ounces and 29 3/4 inches
At 18 months 19 pounds 6 ounces and 30 1/8 inches
At 2 years old 20 pounds 9 ounces and 32 1/4 inches
At 3 years old 25 pounds 6 ounces and 34 inches

5! 5! 5?

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Desmond is 5 today. I can’t believe I have a 5 year old. 5 seems so much older then 4, I know he is only 1 day older, but he is 5. I still can’t believe that he is 5, just yesterday he was a baby, now he is 5.
