A bit late, but happy 1 year blogging

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

So I started this blog August 21st 2005. So it has been just over one year. I haven’t been the most consistant blogger, there were a couple of months I didn’t post anything at all. Either way, happy 1 year of blogging to me. Hopefully I’ll do better this year and post a bit more.

Back from Disney

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Well we are home safe and sound. Disney was a lot of fun. I liked Pop Century where we stayed the first night, though it wasn’t that great probably would give it 3 stars. I enjoyed Animal Kingdom Lodge where we stayed the other 10 nights would give it 4 stars. Actually to be fair the La Quinta we stayed at on the way home would also get 4 stars and it was cheaper then both Disney hotels, though a bit smaller then the AKL room, so if Disney had La Quinta on-site I would be happiest there out of the three hotels we stayed at.

The food was good most places we ate though there were some detractors (Flying Fish) and some amazing places (Narcoosees). The rides were fun and the redone PotC was nice, though we did decide we do like Disneyland’s verision better, now that we have been closer in time and all.

Overall it was a lot of fun, though it was a lot of driving there and home, it is nice to be home with the puppy now, so we’ve spent most of today relaxing and grocery shopping so we have food in the house.

Weird hair effect (Or why the heck is half my hair white overnight?)

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

Okay so I was looking in the mirror today not something I do compulsively mind you, but I do glance at my reflection when washing my hands and such, or when doing my hair to go out somewhere (other then basic places, ie out with friends). So what do I notice but a white hair. Okay not a huge deal I occationally get a white hair or two, no problem just pull it out and it is gone.

Well normally that is all there is to it, until I noticed another one, and another one, and wait is that another one? I counted at least 40 white hairs tonight (okay I pulled out at least 40 white hairs tonight, maybe I am a bit vain, but damn it I am 28 no white hair till I’m at least 35). Where the heck did they all come from? I swear they were not there on Saturday when I actually spent time fixing my hair up decently (since we were going over to a friends house and all). In fact I am almost willing to swear they weren’t there yesterday, so overnight I suddenly ended up with over 40 white hairs, what is up with that? Anyone else ever have spontaneous overnight white hairs?

All I’m hoping is it is a one time thing and I’m not really going white, because dang it I am only 28 and then I would have to find a real hairdresser so I can dye it, because I refuse to have white hair at 28.

Blog Tempate Updated

Friday, June 30th, 2006

So I got around to updating my blog, it is now no longer Winter Themed. It is now Disney Themed (okay more Winnie the Pooh and Tigger then anything, but who’s counting?). This is in honor of our upcoming trip to Disney for our 5th Aniversery, we’ll be heading there August 14th so the theme will be good till fall or atleast till we get back. Enjoy and let me know if there are any problems with it.

Contrary to rumours I am still alive

Monday, June 26th, 2006

Yes I am still living, I just haven’t gotten around to blogging for awhile. I did warn everyone when I started this blog that that could happen. I am still around, breathing and in good health. I should be posting more frequently I believe, so let’s see if it really happens.

New York City Review

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

Just got back from NYC on Sunday. We went from the 29th through the 1st. We left around 11am on the train and arrived in the city around 1:30, got to the hotel after a short misdirection on the subway and got our room. We got a nice room you could see Times Square from the room, well a drop of it.

We dropped off our stuff and headed out for lunch, then headed back to the room and hung out for awhile since Dan was feeling kind of icky and it was raining outside so shopping and stuff wasn’t likely. We had dinner from the Deli in the hotel and it was good, before heading to bed. We didn’t do much the first day.

On the 30th Dan woke up first and went and picked up bagels, we ate in the room and got a semi late start. Headed out around 1pm because we were being semi-lazy, got to Wicked fairly quickly was only a couple of blocks from the hotel, we left early since it wasn’t right on broadway so we weren’t exactly sure where it was. The show was amazing. The songs were great, the story was good, it all came together amazingly. Dan had a few problems with it because it was not true to the book. Since I had never read the book it didn’t bother me at all. It was so worth it and it is probably something we will see again.

Got home after the show and rested in the room before heading out to dinner around 6ish. There was a nice restaurant across the street from the hotel that we ate at last time we were there. So we headed over, the food was great though the service was a bit slow since the waitress was in charge of about 15 tables. Got back to the room around 8:30/9pm and watched the Law and Order SVU marathon on USA.

Got up a bit late again on Saturday and had bagels again for breakfast. Headed out for the show a little early because we had to get wrist bands so we could get through security and into the hotel. Got to the show a bit early, since it was all of 3 minutes from the hotel (the hotel is right next to the Phantom of the Opera theatre and Spamalot is right next to The Phantom of the Opera). The seats were smaller then the ones in Wicked which kind of sucked. The show itself was hilarious. However, compared to Wicked it was just okay. They broke the 4th wall a bit too often and it didn’t work as escapism, which is fine, but part of what I like about the theatre. I am really glad we went, but we probably won’t see it again.

On the plus side I did get killer rabbit slippers.

Got home and got an early dinner from the deli. We then opened the curtains in the room and watched the people freezing in Time Square from our hotel room as we were nice and comfy and watching the Law and Order CI marathon on USA. It was a nice night. Wished each other Happy New Year. Headed to bed a bit early.

Got up on the first and packed everything up and headed to the subway. Caught our train and headed home. Got home, and hung out a bit there. Overall it was a great trip and really enjoyable I’m glad we did it, won’t have minded an extra day so that we would have had time to shop some, but I can always go back.

It Snowed!

Friday, December 9th, 2005

It snowed last night, more then it snowed earlier this week so I got a couple of pictures of K-line in the snow, and was able to update the header with a K-line in the snow picture.

Not much else going on, our new furniture arrived last weekend it looks good and is comfy which is good. One of Atty’s office friends is going to take the old sofa since Goodwill and the Salvation Army won’t.

This weekend is going to be pretty boring I need to start studying for finals since they start on Thursday. I have one Thursday, one Friday, one Saturday and one Monday. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday ones are at 8am which sucks since it means I need to leave by 6:30am. On the plus side I’ll be home before noon which is nice I guess.

We’re going to atty’s parents for Christmas like always, though this year we are going to try to get his grandmother to come down as well. On the 26th we’ll be heading to Richmond, since that is when the Dodd annual Christmas party will be. I should find out whose house that is at. On the 29th we head up to NYC for our New Years trip. We’ll be seeing Wicked on the 30th at the midday showing and Spamalot on the 31st at the midday showing as well, since there is no evening showing. We’ll head back home on the 1st because the hotel was booked for the night of the first when we registered which kind of sucked we were planning to stay till the second. Then again it might be a good thing my winter semester classes either start the 2nd or the 3rd. I’m taking Javascript to get my computer science/programing class out of the way. It should be a fairly easy class I hope.

Anyways that is about it for now, I’ll probably post some more after finals, or maybe this week while procrastinating about studying for finals.

Updates and Such

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Well as you may have noticed I winterfied my blog. I may change it again after we get snow, so I can have a recent pictures of K in the snow up.

Let’s see haven’t written in awhile so let’s see what is new. I’m working for SSAI part time at the moment which is nice since I can do it from home or school. Classes are going okay only two more weeks to go hopefully I’ll do decently this semester.

Thanksgiving was fun drove down to my parents lake house. That place is huge, the movie theatre/projection room is really cool. It was really pretty down there and we had great weather for Thankgiving. Gave everyone there Hanukah presents.

I am done buying stuff for Dan for Hanukah I think, just got his last thing, the complete Calvin and Hobes Collection. Amazon had it at a discount which was nice.

Other then that not much going on. K-line just got back from Daycamp where he had a nice day running around so hopefully he’ll be fairly calm tonight.

Oh I think I may have picked up Dan’s illness, I have a sore throat now, but I’m not as dead as he was so hopefully it is just a mild catching of it.

General Update

Saturday, November 5th, 2005

Okay so I haven’t updated in awhile, mainly because I have been busy and not that much exciting has been happening here. The kitchen is finally finished! They finished Friday around 8am yay! We had about12 groups of 8 or 9 trick or treaters per group the cutest costume was a button. I have 3 tests next week one on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday. Two Econ Tests and a History test, should be a fun week, really, uh huh, I believe it…

We’re going to New Jersey next weekend for Ellie’s Christening. It should be nice, but we have to leave early because we have to pick up my inlaws from BWI at 7pm, they are returning from France, hopefully they are having fun even with the riots in the city.

I’ve been playing a lot of Civ4 and CoV both are lots of fun. Dan has become addicted to Civ4. He was pissed last night when I finished a game in a little under 2 hours, when it took him about 12 hours to finish his game mwhaha.

We went to a computer show today which was nice there was a craft show there as well. We got a couple of Hanukah present for ourselves there which was nice. What wasn’t nice was coming home. There was apparently an accident on 95 south that closed all lanes. So we tried to detour to 95 North and head through the city to get back a better way we failed. 2 hours later was were back at the show area. We stopped for an early dinner/late lunch since we were hungry and ate at Rainforest Cafe which was nice. Then headed home around 7:30pm thankfully the traffic was clear by then.

Not much else going on here. Pretty quiet the past few weeks all and all.
