New Glasses and other ramblings for a deranged mind!

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

I now have new glasses which is nice. They are from 9 west, but I can’t find a picture of the frame I got anywhere. They are cool and retro, which kheldon says means nerdy, but what does he know. Anyways I like them and the lenses are progressive which means they work like sunglasses outside and regular glasses inside yay! It took a few hours to get use to them because my astigmatism changed which meant when I got them it felt like my eye was being pulled all out of place. Atty doesn’t like them either, but they are mine so it doesn’t really matter as long as I like them and I do.

It looks like if there is money in the budget I’ll get the job working part time for Atty which will be nice, I mean it is going to be mostly mindless tasks, but it will be nice money for mindless tasks, and I’ll get to see all the “interesting” ideas for stopping hurricanes, yay giant helicopter fans!

Otherwise not too much going on, didn’t go to class today thanks to Rosh Hashana, jewish holidays are nice, now all I need to do is find a temple so I can actually go to services on them.

K is getting his hair cut tomorrow (well today I guess since it is after midnight) because he is scragly, and has a mohawk I like to play with, so it is time to get him trimmed.

Otherwise besides for the fact that Atty can’t really sit, walk, stand or do much without being in pain from his back, there isn’t much else going on here. The kitchen is really pretty.

And tonights note, don’t put tupperware in the oven. This has been a public service announcement. (and if you want to know how I know this read the kitchen blog)

Grocery Game

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

Well we tried the $1 one month trial of the Grocery Game, or at least the first 3 weeks or so of it, and have decided to cancel it. We just don’t buy the stuff on the list enough for it to be useful. We are pretty good about figuring out sales on our own, and we don’t buy many processed food and we buy almost no junk food (excluding icecream, mmm icecream). So it just wasn’t working for us or worth our money to continue with it.

We did learn, stockpile non-perishables while the price is cheap, and that the first sale might not always be the best sale so keep an eye out on sales just in case. Other then that though it was really a bust, oh well.

Happy Rosh Hashana!

The kitchen is now about 95% done there are still a few small things they need to finish, but overall it is now a working and functioning kitchen!

Coffee Sucks

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

Yesterday we were at Target, our Target has a Starbucks and they have been advertising their pumpkin spice latte. So I decided to get one. You know since I like pumpkins and spices and all that. What I failed to notice was it included coffee. Ewwwwww, gross ick. So I spent 4 dollars on one sip of a Pumpkin Spice Latte, well I got Dan to take a sip too. Fortunately I was able to get rid of the taste of coffee with some nice rum and apple cider, now that is a good drink.

30 days has September

Saturday, October 1st, 2005

April, June and November all the rest have 31 except for old grandma who rides a bicycle.

How Dan learned the 30 days has September poem from his mother. I kind of enjoy it, it is quirky and offbeat even if Febuary got lost somewhere.
