A couple of random pictures

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Here are some random pictures of Desmond. A couple are from our second Ikea visit, when we went looking for some sort of toy storage solution, which we didn’t find. He is on the slide again. The other two are what he likes to do to the gate we have in front of the TV to keep him out of that area, it doesn’t work as well as we would hope unfortunately.

He can take off his pants and put on his shoes!

Friday, February 13th, 2009

In fun and exciting Desmond news, he has gotten quite good at taking off his pants, and diaper too, at least listening to the monitor while Dan is trying to get him to bed. He has been able to take off his pants for awhile, he just hasn’t been doing it often until recently.

He can also apparently put on his sneakers. They may be on the wrong feet, but they are on and velcroed up, and he is stomping around the house in them quite pleased with himself.

Hmm Apparently Desmond doesn’t like Honey

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

So Desmond has a cold with a nasty cough, so I figured we’d give him a spoonful of honey to help out. Apparently Desmond is not a fan of honey on a spoon. Who would have guessed? I mean the child loves almost all foods and loves sugar, apparently he does not however like a spoonful of honey, I guess it doesn’t help the medicine go down in Desmond’s world.

I swear he thought we were trying to poison him.

Desmond does the Laundry Basket…

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

…need to go into timeout? Dan started the sentence last night when he was being hit with the laundry basket thought about it for a second and just couldn’t finish it.

Reading

Monday, February 9th, 2009

So before nap time I looked over at Desmond and he was sitting down “reading” his Winnie the Pooh book, so what could I do but grab the camera and take a bunch of pictures.

Playing with Playdoh and Crayons

Monday, February 9th, 2009

So I got out a playdoh container and a few crayons for Desmond today to play with. He had fun drawing and playing with the playdoh for awhile when he noticed they were sitting out for him.

Ump! Ump! Ump!

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Desmond has finally figured out how to jump! He has known the basics of how to do it for months now, but this past week he finally put it all together and is a little jumping fool now. He figures why walk when I can jump!

Views of his haircut

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

I realized I didn’t have any pictures of what his hair looks like now, so I took a couple this evening. Here is Desmond’s new haircut.

First from the front, which is not much different.

Now from the back, where it is much shorter and looks a bit curlier, I think because of the shortness. It also looks somewhat neater because he doesn’t have a random chunk of hair that is long with the rest shorter.

His first haircut

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Okay technically his first haircut was in India, but that was more of a religious thing where they just snipped off two chunks for the ceremony, it wasn’t a real haircut.

Anyways, the back of Desmond’s head has been getting really tangled and knotted so we decided to get it trimmed/cut. We didn’t want to get it cut too short, but I did want to get it a bit evened out since the snipped in India made his hair a bit uneven and we wanted to get rid of some of the dead hair so hopefully it would be less tangled. We did not cut the front of his hair since his bangs are now long enough they don’t tend to hang in his eyes that often and we don’t want to have to grow them out. They did trim and shape them a bit though which works with us.

So here are the pictures of Desmond getting his first hair cut at Cartoon Cuts. He decided he hated the drape and took it off, and he did try to help out the stylist by running his hands thorough his hair near hers, but I didn’t get pictures of either event.
