Here they are both on the sled! They really liked sledding together.
Here is a cute video of Desmond pulling Eloise while she is on the sled.
I have a bunch of videos of Desmond and Eloise sledding. First though here is Dan sledding yesterday. He is trying to pack down the snow so sledding will be easier. He doesn’t quite succeed though!
So we have had a huge snow storm here, it started last night and has dumped around 20 inches of snow here and we may get another inch or three before it is done. I think it is great, since I love snow, and it is fun to play in and take the small ones out in for awhile. We picked up a sled last night before the snow started, at the third place we tried, but unfortunately the snow wasn’t packed down enough to actually sled. Desmond still enjoyed playing with it though. Eloise really liked the snow too. She actually tried to eat it when sitting in it. When we took them out we probably had about 14 inches of snow, it was fairly deep and Desmond had some trouble trudging through it because of how deep it was, he loved it anyways though. Here are a bunch of snow pictures.
So we are doing Christmas at our house this year. We normally do it at my in-laws, but with the two kids it is easier if my in-laws come here rather then us go over there. This means we need a tree. We had a fake tree when we lived in Atlanta, but I didn’t pack it when we moved up, since I am not a huge Christmas person, being Jewish and all, and we would celebrating at my in-laws anyways. So we haven’t had a tree since we moved up, actually I am pretty sure we haven’t had a tree since either 1999 or 2000, I am almost positive we didn’t put up the one we had in 2001.
So a few weeks ago, before Thanksgiving actually we picked up a fake tree from Target. We decided fake was safer with the two small ones, and less expensive in the long run. It was a fairly inexpensive tree, and it was on sale. We also picked up some ornaments. We had some left from when we last did a tree, but I couldn’t remember how many or if they were child safe, so we’ve been picking up child safe ornaments for our tree. We also picked up 3 strands of different color lights.
With the snow this weekend and it being less then a week to Christmas we decided to set up the tree today.
First we took it out of the box. Desmond decided the box was the best toy ever!
Eloise is a peanut. She had her 9 month appointment today on her 9 month birthday. She is 16 pounds and 12 ounces which puts her in the 18th percentile for weight. She was 26 3/4 inches tall which puts her in the 25th percentile. Her head is right around the 75th percentile though. She is doing great developmentally and stood without support for close to a minute last night, but still no picture, sigh. Anyways she still hasn’t beaten Desmond’s weight at 4 months, but she is 1/4th of an inch taller! I have a feeling she isn’t going to hit 20 pounds by 1.
She did gain 1 1/2 pounds and 1 1/4 inches in the past 3 months which isn’t bad.
At birth 7 pounds 5 ounces and 19 3/4th inches
At 1 month 8 pounds 8 ounces and 20 3/4 inches
At 2 months 10 pounds 4 ounces and 22 1/2 inches
At 4 months 12 pounds 14.5 ounces and 24 inches
At 6 months 15 pounds 4 ounces and 25 1/2 inches
At 9 months 16 pounds 12 ounces and 26 3/4 inches
Just for comparison here are Desmond’s stats at the same ages. She is just about a pound lighter then he was at four months and 1/4th an inch taller.
At one months Desmond was 11 pounds and 23 inches
At two months Desmond was 14 pounds and 24 1/2 inches
At four months Desmond was 17 pounds 13 ounces and 26 1/2 inches
At six months Desmond was 19 pounds 13 ounces and 27 inches
At nine months Desmond was 22 pounds 3 ounces and 29 inches
Last night Eloise stood without support for 10 seconds. I didn’t have time to get a picture though since the camera didn’t have a card in it. Hopefully I will get one soon.
Today was the first snow of the year so we bundled up Desmond and Eloise and took them out in it to get some pictures. Desmond apparently still mostly fits in his old snow suit so we put him in it. Eloise went into the infant snowsuit we bought when I was pregnant with Desmond, not realized he would outgrow it before fall, since it is a 9 month snowsuit. Oh well, at least Eloise wore it! Anyways we just went to the backyard to get the pictures, both of them seemed to enjoy the snow, though Desmond was done with in 15 minutes or so, probably because we couldn’t find his gloves.
So while we were out in the snow Desmond picked up some snow and Dan showed him he could throw it. So he did, at Eloise. Here is Desmond and Eloise and the snowball!
What you doing Desmond?
