At the Playground (take 1)

So I think I mentioned Dan and I took a ton of pictures at the playground on March 22nd. Anyways I am finally posting them, there are around 60 pictures so I am going to split them up into 6 or so posts. Anyways here is the first set of pictures, which will be Desmond on the swings. And a few of him in the bouncy car as well.

Eloise’s newborn pictures

Monday, March 30th, 2009

So last Wednesday we went to Kiddie Kandids and got Eloise’s newborn pictures done. We wanted one with just her and Desmond, but Desmond wasn’t going for it, we did get one of all 4 of us, though Eloise wasn’t very happy in it. We got 7 poses total, 2 of them are rather meh, the rest are nice and some are really cute. She was a bit harder to get pose then Desmond at the same age. Anyways here are her pictures.

I really like this one.

I also really like this one.

Desmond, Eloise, K-line, Me and Dan

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Before I start the huge posts of pictures from the park last Saturday, I figured I’d post these. They are just a few random pictures of us.

First off is me, with Desmond, Eloise and K-line in the chair. The chair seems to call people when someone is sitting there, you go from sitting there alone to everyone in the household in your lap fairly quickly.

Next are three pictures of Desmond hugging Eloise, the flash wasn’t working quite right when I took them so the colors are a bit off, but they are still cute pictures.

She loves to snuggle

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Eloise does not like being put down, she loves to be snuggled up to someone, either Mommy or Daddy is always good. In fact at the moment she is snuggled up on me in her KangarooKorner pouch. Here are a couple of pictures of her last week either snuggled up on me or Dan.

Mission accomplished, thumb found!

Friday, March 27th, 2009

So Eloise has found her thumb and seems to enjoy sucking it, unlike her big brother who never picked up that habit. Here are a couple of pictures of her with her thumb. These were taken last week around day 4 or 5 I think.

The positives of Tandem nursing

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

So Desmond is still nursing, he is turning 2 soon and shows no sign of weaning anytime soon, which I am fine with.

Actually it is really really nice right now that he is nursing. I have major oversupply when my milk first comes in and Eloise can’t drink all of it, so rather then pumping tons of milk that I end up throwing away 6 months later because we never use it, I can use Desmond to help reduce the engorgement and pain of early milk production. It is really really nice.

The only problems being that he wants to nurse all the time at the moment, and he doesn’t get to, since Eloise gets to nurse first, and far more often then he does, and that he hates me setting a time limit on him nursing. Which being a mean Mommy I do, normally of about 10 minutes. He does not like being delatched at that point in time, though he is getting a bit better about it, I’m hoping he improves as the days go by, since he is getting milk again instead of nothing, like he was getting the last month of pregnancy. I think part of his problem is the whole sharing of the milk thing as well. Hopefully that improves as he sees I am not stopping him from nursing either, just limiting him a bit, and honesty it is far less limited then it was before Eloise was born, when he only got to nurse at nap time.

Anyways, since I seem to have gotten off on a tangent, tandem nursing is working really well for us at least 5 days in, and it is wonderful for helping the painfulness of the first week nursing after your milk comes in.
