So a couple of weekends ago it was a gorgeous and hot Sunday. We were going to visit my in-laws, like we do almost every weekend, so we called them and told them to set up the wading pool if they could find it. They had apparently had the same idea, but couldn’t find it. When Dan called though they checked again and found it. So when we got to their house the pool was all set up and ready to go. Both of the kids had a ton of fun playing in the pool outside. Desmond also enjoyed running around the yard full tilt. Feel free to admire Eloise’s bathsuit, we found it at Target and figured it was perfect for her. We left it at my in-laws since we visit them often and having a bathing suit at their house for her makes life easy in the summer.
I love these two pictures of Desmond
All done and relaxing in the chair
So we go to the playground a lot and I tend to take pictures about 1 out 2 visits, so I have a lot of playground pictures. These pictures are from our visit on May 1st. We had gone the day before and I had gotten a picture of Desmond and Eloise walking holding hands with my small camera, but I wanted a better picture so I brought the big camera and they held hands and walked again for me. I also got some other pictures of the two of them playing at the playground since I had the camera with me anyways.
I can so see her as a teenager in this picture. Like seriously Mom do you have to take another picture of me?
There is an inflatables place near Desmond’s Gymnastics and future Preschool. I found out about it from my yahoo parenting group. They did a play date there and Desmond and I went. He had a ton of fun. So the Wednesday after I got back from Atlanta I took him and Eloise again since it was raining and icky out. Desmond had a ball for the 2 hour open play period, and Eloise had fun too. There was only one other little girl there so Desmond had the run of the place and loved it. He had a ton of fun, I plan on taking him back again soon, since it is a reasonable price for two hours of play and he gets to expend a ton of energy running, bouncing, climbing and sliding.
So I got a couple of cookbooks to help me plan lunches for Desmond when he goes to camp, since his camp is Dairy Kosher and we are too basically, I wanted a few more choices to expand his lunch menu. Not that I think he will eat anything other then cheese, maybe carrots and fruit, but it is always worth a shot. Anyways I decided to try a couple of the muffin recipes in the cookbook. The muffins were less then tasty, but Desmond did enjoy helping making them. I find that having him help cook is always fun for him.
So a couple of weeks ago, noticing a theme in the past three posts?, I look up next to me from the computer and see Eloise sitting on the chair playing. So I snapped a few pictures of the cutey!
This finishes my backlog of April pictures now too! I have edited and uploaded all my May pictures through yesterday too, so there are a bunch more posts to come with a lot more pictures.
So I’ve mentioned that Desmond got a trampoline for his birthday, that he loves. I am not sure I ever mentioned what Eloise got though. She got a slide. It is an indoor foldable plastic slide. That Desmond loves too! In fact we often find him perched on the top watching the tv or going down it. Eloise on the other hand hasn’t been quite as sure about it. She will sometimes climb it, and occasionally go down it with Mommy or Daddy’s help. In general though she tends to ignore it. Or at least she did. On Sunday a couple of weeks ago, Desmond was at his grandparent’s house and Dan and I were cleaning. Eloise was helping! While helping she noticed the slide and decided to explore it. She quite enjoyed her time playing on it, though she wasn’t completely thrilled when she went down all alone on it. So she mainly she climbed up the ladder and hung up on the top of it.
Eloise got a tutu from Costco a few weeks ago. She loves it. She saw them in the store and was pointing, “mine mine mine”. So I got her one. They didn’t have any smaller then sized 2T but it works for her anyways. We did only buy her one though. She absolutely adores it and has us put it on over whatever she is wearing.
So here she is in her tutu!
Here is a video of him playing soccer, or at least kicking the ball.
So Desmond is in the middle of a 6 week soccer class. The first week of class he went, the second and third week were canceled and added to the end of the session because of rain. The fourth week, 2nd class he went to with Dan, because Eloise and I were out of town. The fifth week, 3rd class wasn’t canceled but we didn’t go to because it was raining and both he and Eloise were a bit off. So he has 3 classes to go, though he will be missing one of those because we’ll be in Atlanta for it.
He had fun for the first 15/20 minutes of the first class he went to, and then he was done. The second class according to Dan he was good for 30 minutes or so and then he was done, and curled up in his lap not willing to do anything more. We’ll see how he does on Monday for his next class. I figure if he is done after 30 minutes or so I’ll just take him to the playground to play. If it isn’t called off for rain, last check showed thunderstorms expected on Monday, but that can always change.
I am not sure if we are going to put him in the class in the fall again or not. Since he will have just started preschool we might hold off. We’ll see how he feels closer to the fall though.
Anyways here he is on his first day of soccer playing. He has long green socks and shin guards on under his pants, and those are real soccer shoes he is wearing. I need to get some pictures of him playing in shorts too!
and here is Eloise enjoying soccer too!
