Sit Sit… Kiss on the head

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

So a couple of days ago Desmond told me to put Eloise down on his chair. While she was sitting there, he came up and gave her a kiss on the head. He also talked to her a bit and gave her a second kiss on the head, which I didn’t catch on camera. Anyways here are a couple of pictures from then.

Tracing

Friday, September 4th, 2009

I got this idea for Desmond from Shannon’s Tot School Blog. Unfortunately it did not work as well for us as it did for her. Desmond liked playing with the markers and putting stickers inside the stencil areas, but he wasn’t interested in tracing or coloring in the stencils. Not a big deal, we’ll try it again in a month or two and see what he thinks then.

More Bean Pictures

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Here are a few pictures from last week of Desmond playing with the beans again. He hasn’t wanted to play with them at all this week, which is kind of odd considering how much fun he had last week with them.

Decorating a carrying case

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

So Desmond loves to carry things around in buckets and baskets and whatever else he can find to carry them in. So we have been keeping an eye out for a hard sided lunchbox for him for awhile. We figured with back to school stuff we should be able to find one. It seems like everywhere only sell the soft sided ones these days though so we didn’t find one at either Target or the grocery store.

We did go to Joanne’s though since I needed to get him some craft supplies, and we found the perfect case for him. The only issue it was pure white, waiting to be decorated. So our project the next morning, the morning after the day in the life post actually, was to decorate it.

I helped him a bit, and put his name in stickers on it, so that he would know it was his. He decided where he wanted everything to go though and put most of the stickers on all by himself. He had a lot of fun doing this project and loves his box.

Peach Picking

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

On August 8th we went peach picking. We picked around 24 pounds of peaches, it was just so easy to get a lot of peaches. We have frozen about half of them for later use since it ended up being just a few too many peaches for the toddler to eat *grin*, though he did his best eating 4 of them that first day. Anyways here are the picture I took of us picking peaches. We’ll probably go back to the farm at the end of the month and pick some apples and maybe a few more peaches if they are still in season.

RenFest

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

On Saturday we went to Maryland’s RenFest. Both Dan and I really enjoy it and both Desmond and Eloise seemed to have fun. I wore Eloise and Dan wore Desmond, we were going to let him down when he wanted to, so he could walk around and explore some. Unfortunately he decided to have a tantrum when we let him down so he went right back up onto Dan’s back.

One of the most amusing parts of the day was when we saw a fruit stand and Dan commented, “Who goes to RenFest to buy fruit?” To which I looked at him and said, “Actually, how about we get Desmond an apple, he has only eaten fries today.” So we did. He was thinking the fruit stand was more like a farmers market, not a stand that was selling individual pieces of fruit.

We had a lot of fun while there, and both short ones got a doll, and Desmond got a sword as well.

Watching the computer together

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Dan was playing on the computer the other day, so both Desmond and Eloise decided to be with him and watch him play. The two of them are leaning on the desk which is right next to our big chair.

I love this child’s curls

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Does Desmond not have the best curls ever? If only the back of his head won’t turn into a rats nest instantly. He has the best curls ever. I wish my hair curled like his. I am really hoping Eloise also inherits the gorgeous curls.

Napping

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

For nap time, we normally all go up to the bedroom and I turn on Backyardigans for Desmond while nursing Eloise down and then I turn it off at the end of the episode and nurse Desmond till he goes to sleep. So in these pictures I am normally between the two of them. Once Desmond is down I normally lay there a bit and then bring Eloise downstairs with me, where she plays and naps the rest of the afternoon till Dan gets home. Desmond normally sleeps till Dan gets home.

Say Cheese!

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

So Desmond really likes the TV show the Backyardigans, and in one of the shows there is a giant robot that says “cheese” trying to get his picture taken. Desmond has taken to saying “cheese” every time he sees a camera lately. So I had the camera out and my little ham saw me and started saying “cheese!”, which was quite appropriate since he was eating cheese at the time.
