Talking

December 15th, 2007

So Desmond’s first word is: Hi, he has been saying it on and off for a week or two, but I wasn’t really sure if I was hearing him right. However, he definitely said it yesterday at the right time, and others heard him. So Desmond can say hi, when he feels like it. He is also babbling Dada, but he doesn’t say it about Dan yet, no Mama yet at all, but I’m sure that will be soon.

Crawling, Climbing, Crusing, Teeth!

December 13th, 2007

So Desmond now has his two front teeth just in time for Christmas, which means he has 6 teeth now. He’s been a bit fussy the past few days as the teeth came in, but hopefully he’ll be better now they have broken the skin.

He is crawling like a champ and crusing as well. He can stand alone for about 5 seconds now, so I have a feeling real walking may not be that far off. Oh and he can climb, his favorite thing to do in the evenings now is use Daddy’s leg to climb up on the sofa and then cruise around there pulling down whatever he finds. He can also climb stairs, he hasn’t gotten to do it at home yet, but he climbed up the stairs at my inlaws quite fast when we were there on Sunday. He is a very talented baby.

He’s also babbling a lot, so I figure he’ll say his first word soon, no clue what it will be yet though. He is getting so big, he is almost a toddler now, not a baby and he will turn 1 in less then 4 months eek! Time goes really fast.

Santa!

December 13th, 2007

I went out yesterday with my Mother in law and we took Desmond to see Santa. He had fun and we got a couple of cute pictures (which I’ll upload and share if I get around to it). It was nice going out with my Mother in Law.

I also finished the last of my holiday shopping, I found a decent gift for my Father in Law, which is good since the gift we did have was a bit lame. My mother in law also picked up a few things including a toy for Desmond.

All in all it was a nice day.

Snow!

December 7th, 2007

So on Wednesday it snowed. We got around 3 inches, maybe more. It was Desmond’s first real snow, it actually snowed the day after he was born, but we were both in the hospital so I don’t really count that one.

Anyways we went out and played in the snow for a bit and I got some cute baby in the snow pictures So enjoy pictures of the cute baby.

I can live with this…

Thanksgiving

November 28th, 2007

So Thanksgiving was nice. My whole family was there, we stayed at my parents new lakehouse which is very nice. We all fit, it was a bit crowded, but it will be better when it is finished being remodeled and the first floor can be used as well. We had a nice time, my sister’s boyfriend showed up Thursday evening after we ate, so we added one more to the house. It was fun, it was nice seeing my cousins again and hanging out with everyone. It was also really nice that my grandfather could be there, he liked seeing the baby, though he was a bit sad my Grandmother wasn’t there since she is bed bound still (oh and she is also so far gone that she isn’t really there at all anymore anyways).

Updates and such

November 16th, 2007

Okay so it has been awhile since I posted, sorry about that. Now onto updates. The small one is standing and cruising, eek! He is getting really good at the standing thing too, and has started to nt hold onto anything for a second or two before falling, I am so not ready for this. He is on the move between crawling and crusing though and likes to get into everything. He is eating some food now, we don’t give him stuff daily but normally two to three times a week he’ll get something to eat. He really likes feeding himself cheerios as well, which makes for a good distraction.

We got back from a week with my parents which went fine, but what is up with rice cereal? We decided we’d rather not give him rice cereal and you would have thought we’d announced that he was never going to get to eat food or something. I mean he eats well and has no problem with the various foods we’ve given him I don’t see why he needs rice cereal it isn’t like it is anything but empty calories anyways.

We head back to Atlanta on Tuesday for Thanksgiving where I am sure we’ll get the rice cereal comments again. Oh well I am good at ignoring suggestions and saying no, so I’ll just practice that.

Nothing much going on other then with the small one, K is a bit hyper and we had replace the starter on Dan’s car, an unexpected expense, yesterday because his car won’t start. Other then that though everything is going well. I think I may try to start back with teaching myself Latin again at the start of the year.
