Well I took my 3 hour Gestational Diabetes test and didn’t pass. Sigh, I was really close to passing to, if my blood sugar had been one lower after 3 hours I would have passed (it needed to be under 140 it was at 140). I got my testing kit and such and it is tons of fun to prick my fingers 4 times a day, really, highlight of the day right now…
In other baby related news, my baby shower was on Saturday. It was nice, had lots of fun, saw a bunch of my relatives and got a bunch of nice gifts for the baby. I love the scrapbook album my aunt made me, it is great.
My Mom came to the house on Sunday (after the shower on Saturday). My sister was here for about 10 minutes too till she had to go to the airport to catch her plane home. It was snowing Sunday so she didn’t get to spend much time here. My Mom has been here since Sunday though. Sunday we had plans, but because of the storm we didn’t get anything done. Monday we went shopping, bought some IKEA furniture for the living room and dining room and a bunch of baby stuff, that we needed for the blob. We also went out Tuesday and bought a couple of nice carpets to put over the wood floors we just had installed on the first floor. They are really nice, atty picked them up. My Mom also cleaned the house some getting our bedroom in order (we’ve been procrastinating about it) and worked on the blob’s room some though there isn’t much that can be done in there until the furniture arrives. She also painted the front hall and the dining room, and has decided our walls suck (which isn’t a surprise since they do). She leaves tonight so we’ll have a fairly quiet weekend, though we’ll be putting together the IKEA stuff and setting up the living room and dining room.
Other then that not much new going on.

From my sister. She is coming to the baby shower, but since she has to fly up from Atlanta she shipped the gift to us. It is our travel system (stroller and carseat combo). It is really nice, but really really big. You don’t realize how big they are in the store since they are surrounded by a bunch of other ones, but in the dining room it is much more obvious. It is really nice though and we need to check and make sure the carseat fits in my car correctly then we’ll throw out the box.
Other then that not much else going on, had my Midwife appointment on Friday and a measuring about a week ahead so just right. the baby is already head down, which is nice, hopefully he won’t shift in the next 8 weeks.
We went shopping to IKEA but they were out of the pieces we needed, hopefully they’ll have them in soon. Did a bunch of other errands as well. Other then that, big storm suppose to be coming through the area starting this evening, so we’ll see how bad it is. Otherwise I live a pretty boring life right now.

I completely forgot about Wicked. We went up to Baltimore to see the traveling Broadway show last Thursday, the 25th. It was good, not as good as the Broadway version, but then again that is why it is touring company rather then the main company. Glinda in the beginning was a bit off, but she improved as the evening went on. Elphaba (spelling?) was decent but ended up speaking a few of her song lines which was a bit off. This was both the leads first real roles though (not sure how long they have been touring though) so it was a good performance anyways.
We enjoyed it and will probably see it again if it stops by DC/Baltimore again, we probably won’t see it on Broadway again for awhile since there are a bunch of other shows we want to see and we’ve now seen Wicked twice.
We did decide that the theatre in Baltimore where it was, is fairly easy to get to, so we will keep an eye out to see what else heads that way, since it isn’t a horrible drive to get there for a night of theatre.

So we dropped K off overnight last night. Mainly because he was super hyper and it was super cold so he won’t be getting a walk and we didn’t want to deal with him. Nice thing about having a dog instead of a baby, though that will change in 2 months or so eeek! Took over an hour at the store though, we picked up his various medicines at the Vets and had to wait a bit to get them, then we checked him in fairly quickly. However, we had to go sign up for group training for him (the Intermediate training class) and had to wait for the trainer to see if we could sneak in the full class that starts tomorrow rather then the one that starts in a month and won’t be over before the baby was born.
Went out to dinner after that, waitress was eh, fairly slow, food was decent or as decent as Red Lobster ever is. Then went grocery shopping so we now have food in the house which is a good thing. Called my Mom when I got home and talked to her for awhile. Apparently she may be up this weekend, eek guess we need to clear out the guest bedroom some so she can sleep if she actually comes. Looks like my baby shower is confirmed for the 24th of Feb at least at this point in time. Should be nice to see everyone then, will bring the two older gaming machines we’ve replaced, one for my Grandparents and one for my Aunt’s school since we don’t need them anyways.
Not much going on with my parents, not that much going on here either other then that fact atty is now an official employee at his job, yay! We are pleased. Yay cheap health insurance again. That’s about everything. The blob is good, and kicking and I just passed 30 weeks on Sunday, dang it is starting to feel close now…

Well Vanguard released today, I wasn’t planning on getting it, but I decided to check it out and really like it so I now am. Went to Best Buy early this afternoon and they haven’t received their shipment. Okay fine being a day or two late with a single player game not a huge deal, but with an MMORPG is a pain in ass. Sigh, oh well we’ll go to EB games this evening instead who will have it, still a pain though.
On another note I looked at the Vista display, looked at the requirements for running it, laughed (even though I surpass them) and continued on my way since I wasn’t planning to upgrading anytime soon anyways.

So I went to take the test yesterday, wasn’t expecting 3 vials of blood to be drawn, but I can deal with it. Got the results today, I failed. Blegh that means I have to go back next week for the 3 hour test and 4 blood draws that is just going to make my day (plus the whole fasting from midnight till it is over thing is going to make me sooo happy). Sigh, oh well, hopefully I’ll pass the 3 hour one and not have to worry about it again until the next time I end up spawning.

Well we think we’ve decided on the blob’s name. We are 99% certain it will be Desmond Kiran, we’re still discussing last names though because we really aren’t sure what we want to do there. Most likely he’ll end up as Singhal, but could end up as a Rosenberg or even something completely new, we just haven’t decided yet.
The other thing I need to do is come up with a Hebrew name for him. Fortunately there aren’t any relatives he has to be named after, unfortunately this means we need to come up with a Hebrew name for him, without naming him after someone, which would have been easy since then you just use their Hebrew name. *Shrug* that’s life I guess, and I’m quite happy that no one has died that he needs to be named after, so all in all finding a Hebrew name for him is a good thing. Now I just need to figure out what it will be.

Okay so it has been awhile since I posted last. Oops or something. We went to the Trans Siberian Orchestra, it wasn’t exactly what either of us were expecting but it interesting. We decided we prefer their cds to the concert though.
The new floor is finished. It took a couple days longer then expected, but it looks really nice, maybe I’ll post pictures eventually. The wood looks great as does the tile in the bathrooms. Really glad it is done now. We decided we really like the living room mostly empty now we just need to figure out how to keep it this way.
Staying at my parents was fine. Went to the High Museum and saw the Louvre exhibit which was nice. Went shopping with my Mom got a few things for the baby. Brought home the 6823094 outfits she had bought for him. Was a nice week down there, probably won’t see my Dad till April and the baby is born now, should see my Mom sometime next month for the baby shower and such.
Haven’t heard anything about the baby furniture hopefully we will hear something soon though it was 14 weeks from when we ordered it in December so maybe sometime next month before we hear anything.
Haven’t done a ton this past week just relaxing mainly. Need to work on the baby’s room some and then the rest of the house now that the floor is done.
Need to go in and take my Gestational Diabetes test still, was planning to go in today, but it snowed last night and I am not really that comfortable driving in the snow so it maybe tomorrow, which is a bit later then I planned to do it.
Other then that we got about an inch and a half of snow yesterday it was nice to finally have snow this season. Who knows if we’ll get anymore.
Those are all the basics as far as I can tell.

We went to the in-laws for Christmas and Dan’s Grandmother and one of his aunt’s were there, which doesn’t normally happen. Normally it is just us and my in-laws. It was a nice day, though his Grandmother was a bit weird in her arguments, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and it was nice being together for the day. We’ll probably go see my in-laws again sometime in January since we need to get the list from them of Hindi names for the baby’s middle name, they have whittled the list down to about 80 names which should give us a decent number to chose from.
Overall, it was a nice day.

Saw the midwife yesterday, everything seems to be doing decently. I am measuring a bit big, 29 weeks, rather then the 25 and a half weeks I am, but the midwife wasn’t too worried since the baby looked good at the ultrasound earlier this month. Other then that I got the drink I get to drink for the gestational diabetes test in a couple of weeks, the first one is just drink the drink and get your blood drawn in an hour, hopefully I’ll pass it so I won’t have to do the 3 hour one, which sounds like a lot less fun.
Other then the baby measuring big everything else was good, I go back in 4 weeks and after that I am on a 2 week schedule, which makes the whole baby coming soonish seem even closer.
