Well I meant to post last week, but you know what they say about intentions, actually what do they say about intentions? Anyways, Finished our Xmas and Hanukkah shopping fairly easily. I had Dan’s all done before the end of Hanukkah, we had to get a few more gifts on the Friday before Christmas but stores weren’t too bad. Which was nice, everyone seemed to enjoy their gifts. I am a bit disappointed that one of the gifts I got doesn’t work at the moment, but should eventually so it will be good then.
For the first weekend of Hanukkah we ended up getting our big presents, which weren’t actually planned. We got a Xbox360 and a new HD-TV flat panel. They are both nice, and we’ve been getting a lot of use out of them so it seems like a good purchase over all.
Other then presents and such not much has been going on the past few weeks, we’ve replaced the sink cabinets in three of the four bathrooms, we’re not planning on changing the last one at this point in time. We still need to hook up one sink, because Dan isn’t sure which pieces he needs to do it, but the other two seem to be working decently. We need to clean out the first floor this weekend since they are coming to replace the floors on the 8th so everything must be removed that we can.
Otherwise nothing much else going on house wise.

Let’s see this weekend was fairly calm over all. We didn’t do anything with the whole cleaning theme, oh well. What we did was erm Friday something? I honestly can’t remember Friday maybe dinner out somewhere and such but I won’t promise that since I really can’t remember.
Saturday we ran various errand, we went to the baby store where we bought our furniture and ordered the bed conversion kit, in case we want to change the crib to a real bed some day. They were also having a cord blood seminar that we went too. We assumed it would be a general discussion about cord blood etc, it wasn’t it was put on by one of the cord blood banks so basically it was a 30 minute bank your cord blood with us thing. If we hadn’t been planning on banking the cord blood it definitely won’t have convinced us. So it was mostly worthless. We had lunch after that, and did other stuff. Dan looked at the main bathroom upstairs and we visited Home Depot to buy a few things he would need to tear out the cabinets.
Sunday was tearing things up day. I think we got to visit Home Depot 4 or 5 times, well I did I think Dan got to visit 6 or 7 times, since in the evening I made him go alone because I didn’t want to go again. He tore out the cabinet in the main bathroom and installed the new one, it looks good, though all the plumbing insides aren’t together yet, he also did the master bedroom bathroom which looks good too though again is missing some innards. So hopefully this week we’ll finish up on them and have both upstairs sinks working again.
So it was a fairly busy and productive weekend. Next weekend we’re doing the sink in the first floor bathroom. Then painting and such and doing medicine cabinets and such so everything is in place before they come to do the flooring.

Had my second Ultrasound Monday. It went well, we saw the blob again, I’ll post the pictures later. They got the heart measurements they needed, they couldn’t get palate measurements, but we don’t have to go back because they may never get them. This is good since going into downtown Baltimore to John Hopkin’s Medical sucks. It is just a pain to get too.
Overall, everything looks good though. We didn’t get another look to confirm the blob is male, but since the first tech was positive I’m not too worried about it. We may do a 3d/4d ultrasound at the end of January beginning of Feb if we do we’ll confirm he’s male then, but otherwise we’ll stick with the male tag till he appears.
So everything seems good with the baby, we are still waiting on the list of middle names from my in-laws so that we can finalize his name, but at the moment it is most likely to be Desmond somethinghindihere.

Okay so I have a few posts for today, I was planning on putting some of these up earlier but never got around to it so you get a bunch of posts at once. Enjoy.
Anyways, Dan and I have to come up with a couple of small presents for each other for Christmas Day. Normally this isn’t a huge deal, but we are trying to declutter this year, which means that there really isn’t a lot either of us wants. I found a couple of things for me that I have ordered, but I was looking for a pewter dragon or two for Dan and I can’t find any good one this year, which kind of sucks. I found a couple of okay ones, but we are trying not to settle for okay gifts this year. It won’t be a big problem, but we spend Christmas Day at my in-laws since we spend Thanksgiving with my parents, and we always exchange gifts in the morning so we need to have 4 or so gifts for each other.
I did finally come up with one thing for Dan I got tickets for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the 30th of December, so that is one of his presents, I’ll probably wrap one of the James Bond collections as well, which means I just need to come up with two more things for him, I am just clueless about what to get him since there really isn’t anything small that he really wants this year.

Okay this post should have been up earlier this week as well, but that’s life.
Anyways I arrived home on Monday after Thanksgiving, and on Tuesday my Mom headed up to DC for a conference. We didn’t actually see her again till Thursday, yep a big whole 3 days of not seeing my Mom, I am so deprived. Anyways on Thursday she and Dan took the train back to the house and picked up K on their way home. I think we went out to Longhorn for dinner (sounds right at least) since I wanted a salad and baked potato. Friday she was here and Dan was at work. She had a conference call in the morning and in the afternoon we went out to Arundal Mills Mall. We looked at baby furniture at Burlington Coat Factory and decided we weren’t all that impressed by their stuff. We picked up a few baby outfits as well (shocking isn’t it?). Went out to dinner at Melting Pot in the evening which was nice.
Saturday was big shopping day, Mom was up so we could figure out baby room furniture. So we relaxed in the morning again and then headed to my in-laws. Picked them up and all headed to a Baby Specialty shop. We spent awhile there and found a couple of pieces of furniture we liked. Dan really liked one set and it was nice so we decided to go with it. Well sort of. The baby’s room is small, one could even say tiny, it is around 9ft by 8ft. So we didn’t like the long dresser, it didn’t have a lot of storage and it would take up a lot of room. We loved the crib though, so we got the tall 5 drawer dresser with it, which holds more and should fit in the room better. We also got a changing table, which is nice, not sure it is needed, but it will likely be useful so we’ll see. The furniture is by Sorelle and the collection is Chantelle, we got it in the antique oak finish which is nice, not too light or too dark.
After choosing and buying the furniture we went to another baby store, and then out to dinner. We then headed back to the in-law’s house and hung out for a bit before heading home. Dropped my Mom off at the airport Sunday morning and ran some errands after that.
Overall it was a nice weekend with my Mom and we got the furniture ordered, which is good since it will take 14 weeks or so for it to be delivered which puts us in early March about a month before the blob is due. Apparently baby furniture takes awhile to get. Now I won’t see my Mom for a month or so, which isn’t a huge deal, either, I’ll probably see her twice in January though it may be once in Jan and once in Feb, who knows, they haven’t decided on the date of my baby shower yet.

Okay meant to make this post a week or so ago. Thanksgiving was fun, all my sibs but my sister and brother in law where there. 2 of my cousins, my aunt and uncle and my uncle’s sister and her two girls were there too, plus my Grandparents and my Grandmother’s aide, and Judy and Gary (close family friends, we’ve been having Thanksgiving with Judy for 15ish years). It was nice everyone had fun, my Grandmother seemed to be okay with the change in her enviorment. We did eat a bit early since we had to get my Grandparents and the aide back to Atlanta before the aide got off at 8pmish. Overall, it was nice though.
Friday Dan headed home and I headed back to the Lakehouse, it was nice, almost everyone was still there and my sister and brother in law arrived along with his new Wii. The Wii is a lot of fun. We had fun, played games, talked etc. Saturday my Mom and I headed back to Atlanta hung out at my parents house till Monday, was fine. Went out Sunday with Mom, one of my sisters and my cousin, we went to lunch, bought some cute baby clothes and took the two of them to the airport so they could head back, cousin to Connecticut, sister to England.
Overall, it was nice to see everyone again, I’m heading back to Atlanta in January I think because the floors are being done here and I probably shouldn’t be around all the dust and stuff that will be stirred up with them putting tile floors in the bathrooms and wood flooring in the first floor.
A nice trip all and all.

… it’s a boy! We were both hoping for a girl, but we’re happy with a boy too. Everything looked good, I do need to go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound though because he won’t move so they couldn’t measure his heart.
After the appointment we went to Baby’s R Us and I bought him some clothes, because how could I resist? We did our registry as well, hopefully we aren’t missing too much we’ll need.
We decided that we aren’t certain about our name choice of Desmond so we now have a list of a couple of names we’re debating between. We started with 4, added one and then removed 2. Our list of 5 was Desmond, Griffith, Gareth, Alastair and Sebastian. We are now looking at just Desmond, Griffith and Gareth, I think Gareth is winning right now, but who knows. We want to wait for my father in law to give us a list of Hindu names for middle names, and see what works together best.
Other then that not much new with the blob, other then he is fairly active now and likes to kick a lot. I will post the couple of ultrasound pictures we got once I get around to scanning them.

I’ve been feeling the baby move on and off for the past few weeks. Nothing more then little butterfly flutters though. This morning though, I really felt it moving, felt like it was playing the drums in there.
