Busy Busy Busy

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

We’ve been busy over here. 2 weekends ago Eloise and I went down to Georgia for my sister Nancy’s Law School graduation. Congrats again Nancy. We both had fun and it was nice spending time with just Eloise. She is a little character and a lot different from her brother, but since he is bigger and louder she tends to get a bit overlooked at home, poor girl. She is a shoe diva though and got Nonnie to buy her 3 new pair of shoes, including some sparkly pink ones.

Desmond also started swimming lessons a few weeks ago. It was kind of a shock to us, we had signed him up, but then never heard anything about them so we assumed the form was lost. He is having a blast and is getting more comfortable floating on his back. He loves swimming on his tummy and putting his face in and out of the water as he goes forward. He is doing great in the class, his first one without a parent right there with him. I have no pictures of him swimming because our pool doesn’t allow pictures. I’ll have some swimming pictures soon enough though since we are going down to Georgia in under 2 weeks now and will swim a bunch when there I am sure.

Desmond is also taking soccer lessons. So far he’s had 2, well 3, since they didn’t cancel yesterdays even with the rain. He has also had 2 canceled classes because of the rain. He likes it, but the class is a bit too long for him. Hopefully it won’t be raining next week so we can go and he can run around and kick the ball. I do have some pictures from his first class which I will post in a bit.

The summer is looking to be even busier then the spring is. Desmond has camp 4 weeks this summer to prepare him for preschool in the fall. My brother is getting married in Georgia in August, so we’ll be heading down for that obviously. Desmond is going to be the ring bearer and he will be very cute I am sure. We’re also heading to Georgia for a week and a half or so, in two Saturdays for Desmond and two Sundays for me and Eloise. We may go back to Georgia once more before the wedding as well, depends on how my parents and our schedules line up.

I have a bunch of pictures to still get up, plus more from recently to post. So I’ll try to post some in a few minutes and edit the new ones soon.

The Trampoline

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

So Desmond’s big birthday present this year was a trampoline. It is an indoor trampoline and we have it set up in the living room for him and Eloise. He absolutely adores the trampoline. It is wonderful, I am not sure why we didn’t think of it before for him. He can bounce out a ton of energy. If he is bouncing elsewhere we can redirect him to the trampoline. He is also really good with the rule of only one person on the trampoline at a time, so if Eloise gets on he stops jumping and gets off. It was seriously our best buy for him and it will last for a long time since we got an adult trampoline that even Dan can use.

Anyways here are some pictures of him and Eloise on it right after we put it together for him birthday. In the first few you can see the hold bar on it. You can also see why we took of the bar almost immediately.

Potty Training

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Eloise that is. Desmond has no real interest and if I push him about it he resists even more, so I’ve given up on him. He can potty train when he wants to. He won’t go to college still using diapers, so I’m not too worried. That being said, Eloise loves sitting on the potty. So we are a lot. She gets to sit on the potty whenever she goes over to the bathroom and whenever I change her diaper. She has actually gone on the potty a few times. So my 13 month old is potty training. Since she wants to, my 37 month old isn’t.

Presents from Nonnie and Pom

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

So since my parents weren’t going to be there for Eloise’s Birthday my Mom sent a package to us filled with presents for both Desmond and Eloise. They both loved opening everything that Nonnie sent. Eloise especially loved all her new shoes. She love sparkly shoes.

I know it goes on my foot some how. I can get it!

Look at my pretty shoe!

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate, Yum!

At the small birthday party we gave Eloise chocolate pie that was dairy free. She quite enjoyed it! She also liked the cake my in-laws had for her. She was a huge fan of the pie though.

Eloise’s Birthday at my in-laws

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

So for Eloise’s birthday my parents were in Colombia. No not where we live, the country Colombia for one of my brother’s good friend’s wedding. So we did a small family party at my in-laws on her birthday for her. She had quite a good time and enjoyed it a lot. Here she is showing off turning 1!

Desmond’s Birthday at my in-laws

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

We did a small family get together for Desmond’s birthday at my in-laws on the 27th of March. We also celebrated my 32nd birthday, since my birthday was the 26th. We all had a nice time. We had spent the day at a friend’s house playing games, while my in-laws had watched Desmond for us. Desmond enjoyed his gifts and Eloise enjoyed the cake!

Desmond looked at Eloise and told us, “Ise mess! Clean up Ise!” and then went over to help clean her up because she was a mess.

He’s such a thoughtful big brother!

At the Aquarium

Monday, April 26th, 2010

For Desmond and Eloise’s birthday this year, my Mom got us a membership to the Baltimore Aquarium, which now includes the National Aquarium too as an additional bonus. Which was a great present, because honestly we so don’t need more stuff in our house. She also got them a bunch of stuff, but we’ll stick to the Aquarium piece. So on the 14th of March we all went to the Aquarium for Eloise’s Birthday. Desmond really likes the Aquarium, we go semi-frequently, we also go to the Georgia Aquarium often when we are down there. Both Desmond and Eloise like watching the fish.

We had a really good day visiting the fish, and everyone had fun. Desmond liked looking in the various aquariums to see the different animal and he enjoyed the coral reef section. It was fairly busy on the 14th so we didn’t stay long, since we can come back when it is less crowded, but everyone had fun.

Here are some pictures of the small ones enjoying the aquarium.

When I grow up I’m going to be a computer programer!

Hairbows, hairbows, get your hairbows!

Monday, April 26th, 2010

So Eloise has a bunch of hair bows. I pick them up at Target for her. She doesn’t have a lot of hair though and they tend to fall out fairly easily. That being said, Desmond loves her hair bows. He brings them to me to put in his hair. So here is my gorgeous little boy all dolled up in his sister’s hair bows. They look really good on him.
